America is a land of extremely diverse people. Out of our diversity, new genres of music have been created. More than just a combination of styles and influences, it is unlike music found anywhere else; it is uniquely American music. Witness celebrates American music as the Chorale welcomes one of America’s preeminent jazz singers, Denise Thimes. In a career that spans over two decades, Denise has truly been one of the most cherished voices of modern jazz. Come and hear why jazz legend Clark Terry describes Ms. Thimes as “a perfect mix of Ella, Sassy, Lady Day, Dianne, and Carmen.” Joining the Chorale and Ms. Thimes is well-known St. Louis music educator and pianist Dello Thedford. This concert of spirituals, gospel, and jazz is not to be missed! The concert will benefit Let’s Start. |
