Messiah at Salem | October 16 – November 13, 2012

Messiah at Salem | American Chamber Chorale

To make the December 8th concert even more enjoyable, join conductor Stephen Morton for a five-week, in-depth study of Messiah. Discover the unusual circumstances surrounding its creation, why this work is so unique, and how Handel’s music unscores the meaning of the lyrics taken from the Old and New Testaments. The class is offered as part of Salem Night on Tuesday evenings (6:30-7:30 PM) beginning October 16th at Salem. Those in the class are also invited to stay and rehearse Messiah with the Chorale and perform it with the Chorale and Orchestra in the December 8th concert! There is no charge for the class or for singing with the Chorale and Orchestra!

Bring your own Messiah score to class and rehearsals or purchase one at the first class on October 16th for $10. The preferred edition is the Leonard Van Camp Edition (Roger Dean Music Publishing) which will be used in the class and performance. Seating is limited.

Please register for the class by calling Salem at (314) 991-0546 or the Chorale office
at (314) 638-0793.
